It pains me to say this but I hate programming.

I have done it as a career for years, but I hate everything about it. I hate syntax, I hate machines, I hate debugging, I hate programming.

I like humour. I like people, I like psychology, I like ideas, I like thinking, I like writing, I like seduction, I like adventure, I like life, I like conversation, I like love, laugh, hate, and passion.

I hate tinkering indefinitely.

I hate machines.

I’m done fighting machines.

I have thought about code every day for 10+ years, I’m done.

Programming is a tool, a means not an end. I want to build products, I want to build businesses, I want to produce ideas and things that actually make a difference.

Great programmers are great because they can build things that work, I don’t want to be a great programmer, I want to be a great builder.

The good news is this is the age of the builder. This is the age of natural language. This is the age of the thinker not the tinkerer. The next decade belongs to whoever can write and think, can prompt and build, can market and sell, can create and execute. This is the decade of the builder.
